This tale starts in 1983 with Caleb Reaves. The son of Mackland Ames and future Knight of the Brotherhood started out in big trouble. Story by Williamson M. Scott. Video by Sensue.
"Sorry about that. It wasn't my intention to have our first meeting be quite so..." Ames paused, struggling for the right word for what just happened.
"Weird?" Caleb scooted himself further up in the bed and placed his back against the wall, keeping the two men directly in front of him and definitely out of reach.
Review by Sensue:
This is a story that you can read over and over again. The characterizations are spot on, the history is rich, and soon, you're obsessed with the Brotherhood. In this story, Caleb Reaves is world-weary. He's seen things that no one believes. He's already lived with the trauma of witnessing his birth parents' murder-suicide and now, he has to live through it again with his foster family. He's standing on the ledge.
Then, we're introduced to Dr. Mackland Ames, who is new to the secret society. Training with Jim Murphy, he finds himself entangled with a twelve-year-old, one that he can't help but connect with. He chooses to see the boy's potential instead of fearing his possible blood-curse.
Warnings for suicide attempts, violence, attempted murder of an underaged character, and the occasional swear word.
